Refund & Cancellation Policy
At *KM Auto Export Co. Ltd., we work hard to ensure a transparent and smooth buying experience for all customers worldwide. Because all vehicles are purchased specifically *based on customer order*, the following Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all transactions.
*1. Order Confirmation & Non-Refundable Deposit*
* Once a customer places an order, a *deposit is required* to secure the vehicle.
* *All deposits are strictly non-refundable*, regardless of later cancellation by the customer.
* Deposits cover auction bidding, vehicle reservation, documentation, labor, and administrative costs.
*2. Cancellation Before Vehicle Purchase*
If the customer cancels the order *before* we purchase the vehicle at auction or from a dealer:
* The *deposit is non-refundable*.
* The order will be cancelled, and no further charges apply unless special services were requested (inspection, transport, repair, cleaning, etc.).
*3. Cancellation After Vehicle Purchase*
If KM Auto Export Co. Ltd. has already *purchased* the vehicle on behalf of the customer:
*No refunds will be issued for deposits or payments made.*
* The customer is fully responsible for the *total vehicle cost*, including:
* Auction price / Dealer price
* Auction fees
* Transport fees
* Export preparation fees
* Documentation and agent charges
* If the customer refuses the vehicle, KM Auto Export Co. Ltd. may attempt to resell it, but the resale process is *not guaranteed*, and any loss in value will be the customer’s responsibility.
*4. Refunds for Overpayments*
If a customer overpays on an invoice:
* The overpaid amount will be refunded *after deducting bank charges*.
* Refunds are made only to the *same bank account* used for payment for security reasons.
* Refund processing may take *7–14 business days* depending on banking procedures.
*5. No Refund for Shipping, Documentation, or Export Fees*
Once shipping arrangements or export documentation have started:
* All incurred costs are *non-refundable*, including:
* Shipping booking fees
* Vanning charges
* Storage or yard fees
* Export certificate issuance
* Customs paperwork
These costs cannot be reversed once they have been initiated.
*6. Vehicle Condition & Inspection Policy*
KM Auto Export Co. Ltd. purchases vehicles based on:
* Japanese auction sheets
* Seller-provided information
* Professional inspection standards
Since all Japanese auction cars are sold *as-is, we do **not* provide refunds for:
* Engine or mechanical conditions
* Body repairs, scratches, dents, paint condition
* Interior condition
* Mileage discrepancies shown by auction sheet
* Delays caused by shipping companies, customs, or natural events
Customers are encouraged to request additional inspections if required (extra charge).
*7. Export Documentation Cancellation*
If a customer cancels after documents have been issued:
* Document fees, translation fees, and administrative charges are *non-refundable*.
* If documents must be re-issued due to customer error, additional charges apply.
*8. Shipping Cancellation by Customer*
If shipping has already been booked:
* Shipping fees cannot be refunded.
* The customer must pay any cancellation charges imposed by the shipping line.
* The vehicle may need to be stored until the next shipping schedule, and *storage costs apply*.
*9. Customs or Regulatory Issues*
No refunds are provided if:
* The importing country denies entry due to local laws
* The customer provides incorrect import documents
* The customer fails to clear customs
* A country suddenly enforces new restrictions or bans
The customer is fully responsible for ensuring that import regulations in their destination country are followed.
*10. Disputes & Resolution*
KM Auto Export Co. Ltd. will make every effort to resolve customer concerns fairly and professionally. However:
* KM Auto Export Co. Ltd. holds the *final decision* in all refund-related matters.
* All disputes shall be governed under *Japanese law*, and handled through appropriate legal channels in Japan.
